Privacy Policy

Overwatch is an app made by Elion that lets you talk to Claude, Anthropic's AI, from your phone and Mac using your own Anthropic API key. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: Overwatch is built to keep your data yours. There are no ads and no tracking.
What we collect
- Your Anthropic API key. You add your own key to use the app. It is stored on your device. It is sent only to Anthropic, and only on the requests you make to Claude. If you turn on sync (below), it is also stored in your own private cloud record so your other devices can use it.
- Your chats. The messages you write and the replies Claude returns are stored on your device. If you turn on sync, the text of your chats is stored in your own private cloud record. Images you attach are not uploaded to sync; they stay on the device that added them.
- Your account email (only if you sign in). If you choose to sign in to sync across devices, we receive your account email and a user id to identify your private record. Signing in is optional.
- Subscription status (only if you buy Overwatch Pro). If you subscribe on the Mac, your payment is handled by Stripe; we receive your subscription status and a Stripe customer identifier so the app can unlock Pro. We do not receive or store your full card number. The iPhone app is free and has no in-app purchases.
How your data is used
Only to make the app work: to talk to Claude with your key, to show and organize your chats, and (if you sign in) to keep your keys and chats in sync across your own devices. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who your data goes to
- Anthropic. Your prompts, and any images you attach to a message, are sent to Anthropic to generate Claude's replies. Anthropic's handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
- Google Firebase. If you turn on sync, your keys and chat text are stored in a Firebase (Google Cloud) database in a record scoped to your account and readable only by you. Google acts as our hosting provider.
- Stripe. If you subscribe to Overwatch Pro on the Mac, your payment is processed by Stripe, which collects your payment details directly under its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. We receive only your subscription status and a customer identifier, never your full card number.
Where it's stored and for how long
On-device data stays until you delete the app or clear it in the app. Synced data stays in your private cloud record until you delete it. You can remove a saved API key at any time in Account, and you can delete chats in the app.
Your choices
- Don't sign in: the app works fully with data kept only on your device.
- Remove your API key or delete any chat at any time in the app.
- Ask us to delete your synced record by emailing the address below.
Children
Overwatch is not directed to children and is rated for users 17+.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
